음성외국인도움센터, 금왕지역 지역학습관 개강

음성지역은 외국인이 지역주민의 10%를 차지하는 외국인 밀집지역으로 알려져 있지만, 지역이 넓고, 대중교통 등 인프라가 부족해 외국인들이 한국사회에 적응하기 위해 어려움을 겪어왔다.
이로인해 지난 3년동안 법무부 청주출입국사무소에 사회통합프로그램 개설을 요청, 어렵게 지역학습관을 개설하게 됐다.
고소피아 센터장은 "이번 지역학습관 개설을 위한 애로사항 해결을 위해 행정복지센터 강의실을 무상으로 사용하도록 도움을 주신 권순갑 금왕읍장과 행정적 지원을 해준 충주 거점 기관에 감사드린다"며 "앞으로 금왕지역에서 외국인 주민을 위한 사회통합프로그램이 빠른 시일 내 정착할 수 있도록 노력하겠다"고 말했다.
